Initial Consultation

Expect to spend approximately 60 minutes at your initial consultation. During this time, Dr. Nager will conduct an extensive history and evaluation in order to better understand your medical conditions and needs. A personalized treatment plan will often involve further lab work with either functional medicine or conventional testing.

Follow-up consultations

The first follow-up is usually 45 minutes, but could be longer depending on the complexity of your condition. After this, most follow-up appointments are 30 minutes.

How do I get my prescriptions filled?

Prescriptions will be filled at the time of an appointment until your next follow-up. If a refill or dosage changes are required an appointment will be necessary. Please plan accordingly as refills will not be filled over a weekend except in the unique case of an emergency.

How do I receive lab testing results?

Follow-up appointment ranging from 30 – 45 minutes will be scheduled to review any lab or test results.

Lab testing

Most traditional blood lab tests are covered by your insurance plan. We recommend that you check with your insurance provider to understand restrictions or obligations that may apply. To determine your needs we often use other functional lab services for specialized evaluation. Those lab tests may vary in price and will be clearly explained prior to ordering. We have negotiated with Labcorp to provide discounted rates to patients who either do not have insurance, haven't met their deductible or whose insurance does not cover lab tests.

Cancellation policy

New patients

All initial functional medicine visits are secured with a valid credit card. Initial functional medicine visits that are canceled or rescheduled with less than two business days notice will be charged $100-except in the case of family or medical emergency. If the new patient does not show for their appointment the same fee as above will apply.

Returning patients

Returning patients who cancel their functional medicine follow-up visit with less than two business days notice will be billed for 50% of the visit fee (charged to the card on file) except in the case of family or medical emergency. In the case of inclement weather, a telemedicine appointment will be offered if a patient cannot make it to the office. Missed or forgotten follow-up appointments will also be charged 50% of the visit fee. For Monday appointments, cancellations must be made 48 hours prior to the Monday appointment.  Late cancellations can be changed to a telemedicine appointment if a patient is unable to attend in person.
